What counts
These are the signals that should decide who appears first. Reviews and verification matter most.
Reviews
Average rating from approved reviews, balanced by how many reviews a business has, so one 5-star review cannot outrank a long track record.
License & insurance checked
Our team checks documents before a business earns the Verified badge.
Complete profile
Photos, services, hours, service area and a real description.
Years in business
Capped, so age alone never dominates.
Responsiveness
How quickly and consistently a business answers reviews and requests.
Recent activity
Fresh photos, updates and reviews.
What never counts
Payment
Featured and Sponsored placements appear in clearly labeled spots. They never change a business’s organic position or its rating.
Who owns the business
If the site operator owns a listed business, that listing carries a visible disclosure and is ranked by the same rules as everyone else.

- Reviews drive the order. Ratings from approved reviews decide the order today. The other signals above are being phased in as the directory grows.
- Most listings have no reviews yet. Until a business has reviews, its position says nothing about quality. Please read the profile, check credentials and compare several pros.
- No listing is Verified yet. We only award the badge after we have checked a business’s license and insurance documents, and we have not awarded any so far.
- Many listings are unclaimed. We compiled some from businesses’ public websites. They are labeled as not claimed or verified by the owner, and any credentials shown are the company’s own statements.

Common questions
Can I pay to rank higher?
No. You can pay for a clearly labeled Featured or Sponsored placement once those options launch, but paying never changes your organic ranking or your reviews.
Does the site owner’s own business get priority?
No. Any business owned by the site operator is disclosed on its listing and is ranked by the same rules as every other listing.
Why does a business with no reviews appear above one with reviews?
It should not once ratings apply. If you see something that looks wrong, tell us and we will look into it.
Can a business remove a bad review?
No. Owners can reply publicly, and anyone can report a review that breaks our policy. We judge reviews on what they say, not on whether they are positive or negative.
